Self-Care Sunday Yin Yoga Workshop
In this autumn-themed workshop, the goal is to slow down and switch off from the busy day-to-day routine, finding some time for self-care. As well as doing long-held, floor-based postures from yin yoga, we will work with myofascial release techniques and yoga nidra to help you leave the workshop feeling relaxed and restored.

Join us for a yin workshop on Sunday 08 October, 2-4:30pm, led by Rebecca Law. You can join the workshop in person at Lumi Power Yoga or in-person via Zoom.
The objectives of this workshop are to:

-
Release tension in the body via a sequence of long-held, floor-based postures (up to 5 minutes). We will use props (including bricks, blankets and straps) to find the unique level of support required for you to get your best stretch
-
To supplement the physical postures, we will work with tennis balls to release muscular and myofascial tension - think of this as an opportunity for some self massage!
-
Following the autumn-themed yin sequence, we will snuggle up and settle into a Yoga Nidra practice, a form of yogic sleep. The goal is to cultivate a deep state of physical and emotional relaxation.
-
Using yin yoga philosophy as our lens, we will reflect on the importance of rest to balance out the fast pace of our hectic day-to-day lives.

About Rebecca:

Rebecca's goal is to empower students, both physically and mentally, via their yoga practice. She is a firm believer that if you can breathe, you can practice yoga. She encourages yogis to let go of the need to be 'perfect' in favour of developing a compassionate practice that respects and nourishes the body – and the South Asian roots of the yoga teachings and traditions – in an authentic and accessible way.

She qualified as a Lumi yoga teacher and discovered that the wonderful "yang" of vinyasa flow can be balanced with a calmer, restorative "yin" practice. She is passionate about the power of yin practice and the benefits it can bring.
