Breathe Move Write:
Yoga and Creative Writing Workshop

This workshop will be brought to you by our very own yoga teacher, Rosie Wadham, and award-winning writer and performer, Demi Anter.

In this workshop, Rosie and Demi combine yoga and creative writing exercises, meditation and free movement to strengthen the mind-body connection, and unlock creative energy.  Rumour has it there might even be some dancing involved, too!

Join us for this workshop on Saturday 1 June, 2:00-5:00pm, at Lumi Power Yoga (121 King Street, Hammersmith  W6 9JG).

No prior experience in either writing or yoga is necessary, just an interest and openness to exploring together.  Rosie and Demi are strong believers that anybody can access creativity and find joy in movement, with the help of practical exercises and supportive guides.

Rosie and Demi will create a supportive, kind environment where people of all levels and backgrounds can meet, and try new approaches to movement and writing.  Here's what one participant had to say about the workshop:

"Rosie and Demi are so sweet and created such a lovely space for both yoga and writing. The group had a great vibe and it was a gorgeous way to spend a Saturday morning." — Breathe Move Write Participant

WHAT TO EXPECT

The workshop will begin with an introduction and short guided meditation.  Throughout the three-hour workshop, Rosie will lead several blocks of movement based on her yoga teachings.  She'll start gently but also provide an opportunity to push yourself more physically as you feel ready.

Demi leads both partnered and individual creative writing exercises, using a variety of prompts.  This session will focus on tuning into the self, reflecting on the relationship between the mental and the physical in an attempt to explore the connection between the two.

Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. You may also want to bring a jumper in case you feel cold while we sit and write together, and water. For writing, please bring paper and a pencil or pen. Snacks and tea will be provided.

No previous experience of yoga or creative writing is necessary. All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced.

"A fantastic session— would recommend to everyone. Rosie's yoga was excellent and Demi's writing session opened up creativity within me I didn't know existed! Please hold another one soon!"

"This was such a lovely experience. The yoga and writing parts were equally impactful and woven in seamlessly with each other. The instructors were so lovely and created such a safe and warm space, besides the actual space being so great. I'd definitely do this again."
