108 Sun Salutations
Join us in-person or online for a fun fundraising event! We're doing 108 Sun Salutations to raise funds for Lumi Foundation. Saturday 16th October, 2.30pm-5.30pm.
Sun Salutations are a big part of our yoga practice and the number 108 is a very special number. Vedic mathematicians saw 108 as the number of wholeness of existence. In astronomy, we find that the average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their diameters.
And, the tradition of practicing 108 Sun Salutations is a very ancient one. Practicing 108 Sun Salutations can be a challenging and invigorating experience, moving energy and sharing the experience with our amazing community.
Here are more details about the event:
Joining the challenge
You can join the challenge alone or recruit friends, family, whomever to create your own Sun Salutations team.
You'll also have the option to join us in person at Riverside Studios (right near Hammersmith Bridge) or on Zoom.
Can't do the Sun Salutations? That's okay. You can always tune in via Zoom to cheer on the participants.
How it works
Lumi Foundation teachers will start by going through the alignment of Sun Salutations A and B to make sure you're practicing safely and with stability.
We then practice variations of Sun Salutation A and B (each one with a different flavour) as we do 108 of them.
Donating
This is a fundraising event for Lumi Foundation and there are different ways to donate.
-
You can make a one off donation for the entire event (minimum donation of £30).
-
You can become a fundraiser! Pledge a target amount and gather donations from friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, etc. The more the merrier!
Whatever option you choose, we will make it easy for you to donate or fundraise.
Finally, we know that 108 Sun Salutations can seem quite daunting. The first thing that probably comes to mind is, 'I could never do 108 Sun Salutations.' Here's the thing - it's okay if you don't do all 108 but you'll never know unless you try!

Book now to sign-up for the event and we'll send you more information!
